Medical Care in Florida

FAQ

How do appointments work?

Your first visit usually takes an hour, while follow-ups are 30 minutes every 2-4 weeks. Your visits aren’t rushed, and you won’t have to wait to see the doctor – we respect your time! We provide personalized health assessment, custom coaching, and support via the LiveUp Healthcare app (coming soon). We can also address and treat your chronic weight-related conditions through our primary care services. Click here for more info.

An obesity medicine specialist is a clinician who specializes in treating obesity, overweight patients, and related disorders. They focus on finding the root cause of your weight gain and developing a comprehensive treatment plan for your care that involves a combination of lifestyle and medications (if indicated). With that extra training, you get expert, individualized care. Although your primary care clinician can prescribe weight loss meds, that doesn’t mean they necessarily have the training or experience to do so. Just like a cardiologist is a heart specialist, an obesity medicine clinician is a weight management specialist.

We are a medical treatment program for patients at risk for or suffering from the disease of obesity. We will formulate a treatment plan for your individual needs, which will include healthy nutrition, exercise recommendations, and other lifestyle modifications for your overall health and wellness.

We prescribe both old and new weight loss medications that help you feel satisfied with fewer calories, curb your appetite, and reduce cravings:

  1. Zepboud/Mounjaro (Trizepatide)
  2. Wegovy/Ozempic (Semaglutide)
  3. Saxenda (Liraglutide)
  4. Metformin
  5. Contrave (Naltrexone and Bupropion/Wellbutrin)
  6. Qsymia (Phentermine and Topiramate)
  7. Phentermine
  8. Diethylpropion
Our program is tailored to meet your needs. We start by obtaining a comprehensive health history, look deeper into your medical history with laboratory evaluation, and discuss your lifestyle and family/home situation. All of that informs a customized plan, which is supervised by a trained physician associate. Our holistic approach, with clinician-supervised lifestyle changes, better fits into your life and helps you lose weight fast. You will be monitored throughout our program and your progress tracked with our coaching app, ensuring that you are safely losing weight while making the necessary adjustments. LiveUp Healthcare targets a 15% weight loss goal, scientifically linked to significant cardiovascular health benefits. We are dedicated to guiding you toward this goal by using a scientifically tailored approach designed specifically for you.

We start by reviewing a complete metabolic panel, so get your lab work done or share results from work done in the last 12 months. The tests provide valuable insights into your health and help us build the most effective program for your needs.

At LiveUp, we work together to help you achieve your overall health, mindset and weight loss goals. Our approach starts with a consultation to determine what causes any excess weight, including a review of your medical history, lab work and lifestyle. We help you develop new habits and lifestyle changes to facilitate losing weight quickly and safely. To support your ongoing, holistic health journey, we offer discounted medical-grade supplements and weight loss medications if indicated, as well as guidance, monthly visits and close monitoring so you feel motivated and accountable. We kick it off with a welcome kit that includes a body composition scale and other weight loss and health tools. Our wellness app is available for guidance, and you can connect with PA Altieri via secure text messages. We’re excited to help you transform into your most confident self and reach your ideal weight!

Every small change you make today brings you closer to a stronger, healthier version of yourself.

We offer a comprehensive lab program tailored to your needs. While these tests can typically cost anywhere from $20 – $1,500, we make comprehensive lab panels available starting at $70. You can go to any local Quest to have the tests done. Our partnerships enable us to offer such competitive pricing.

We do not accept insurance for labs and they cannot be submitted for reimbursement by insurance plans.

Although our program offers package deals for a series of tests, multiple tests ordered simultaneously may potentially increase the total cost. And tests that are specialized or complex typically cost more.
